GKN Wheels Telford
GKN Wheels Telford is a business employing circa 200 people in the North West Midlands. It has been manufacturing wheels for nearly 100 years and in 1909 manufactured and patented the world’s first pressed steel wheel. It now supplies major tractor and light construction OEMS with steel wheels with 60% being exported into Europe.
The business has grown over recent years acquiring new customers and has achieved national recognition through the IMECHE in 2003 with an award for change management and in 2005 the coveted award for customer focus. In addition GKN Wheels Telford is the only wheel plant to hold partner status with John Deere in 2005.
